Here are some discussion questions I have for you all:
What is your opinion of Augustus? How do you think you would react if you were in the same situation as Hazel? What is your favorite quote(or quotes) from these chapters?

I love Augustus because he is so sweet and considerate to Hazel!! He is so cute, funny, and very charming. He really opened Hazel up and made her see her values and priorities in life. He made a huge difference for her and made her see that she was important and loved. She went to his house and watched V for Vendatta and compared Hazel to Natalie Portman. He then secretly slipped her his number and then she stayed up late reading the book he gave her The Price of Dawn. She gave him An Imperial Affliction to read for himself. They really hit it off and had chemistry together. From the very beginning they clicked. The first day they met, Augustus invited Hazel over for a movie! They instantly got along and I love this book so far!! If I ever had lung cancer I would definitely stay positive and happy because I am a happy person and I love life! I would not let cancer change who I was! I would fight the cancer and I would win!! Cancer stinks but you can get through it with the right attitude! I have read ahead because I couldn't resist but I won't spoil anything for you!

I think Agustus sounds like an absolutely charming and amazing person! I want someone like him in my life! If I were in Hazel's situation I hope I would be positive about it. If I had any kind of cancer (especially lung! *shivers*) I would try to act like Matt Allen does! I think I would just be scared a lot of the time... The thought of not being able to breathe or drowning terrifies me. There are so many amazing quotes its hard to choose! I liked in chapter 2, "(I didn't tell him that the diagnosis came three months after I got my first period. Like: Congratulations! You're a woman. Now die.)". I also loved later in chapter two "I liked that he was a tenured professor in the Department of Slightly Crooked Smiles with a dual appointment in the Department of Having a Voice That Made My Skin Feel More Like Skin." And I think my all-time favorite quote so far in the history forever is in chapter four. "'That's the thing about pain,', Augustus said, and then glanced back at me. 'It demands to be felt.'"
I find it simply amazing that a guy like John Green can write this kind of amazing book!!! Have any of you ever seen his YouTube videos? If you haven't I think you'll be quite surprised! :-D

I obviously love Augustus! If he were a real person, I'd marry him. I love his witty charm with Hazel and his antics with Issac! He is by far my most favorite character. If I were in Hazel's situation, I would definitely try not to let the cancer get the best of me. Sure it would be hard, but if would help fight it! Plus I'd try to do more than just stay at home all day *even if that sounds great at times*. Annnd for the last question of my own, there are a ton of quotes that I love. A few are: "You should see it, " he said. " V for Vendetta, I mean." "Okay," I said. "I'll look it up." "No. With me. At my house," he said. "Now." I stopped walking. "I hardly know you, Augustus Waters. You could be an ax murderer." (pg. 17) -------------------- (I didn't tell him that the diagnosis came three months after I got my first period. Like: Congratulations! You're a woman. Now die.) (pg. 24) -------------------- "But you don't even have my phone number," he said. "I strongly suspect you wrote it in the book." He broke out into that goofy smile. "And you say we don't know each other." (pg. 37) -------------------- When I got out of the movie, I had four text messages from Augustus. Tell me my copy is missing the last twenty pages or something. Hazel Grace, tell me I have not reached the end of this book. OH MY GOD DO THEY GET MARRIED OR NOT OH MY GOD WHAT IS THIS I guess Anna died and so it just ends? CRUEL. Call me when you can. Hope all's okay. (pg. 53)

Augustus seems so cool and smooth me adorable! I really like his character and would love to know someone like me! I think Hazel's condition is terrible and scary! I would be so afraid if I had lung cancer. I'd try to stay positive but I know that'd be hard. There are so many amazing quotes in this! But my favorite one is "'That's the thing about pain.' Augustus said as he looked back at me. "It demands to be felt.'" And this is like the most popular quote from the book! I hear it a lot and now I know what it's from! This book is fantastic so far!

I love this book so much!!!!! Every time I read it I fall more and more in love with it! The characters are so realistic and I actually can relate to them! Typical teenage things such as: falling in love, friendships, and family! I can relate to all those things and this book opens my eyes up to every aspect of Hazel and Augustus lives! It is so amazing and I can't even begin to explain my point of view from reading it. The author of this book is simply amazing and brilliant! I never would have thought to write a book from Hazel and Augustus point of view! It is magnificent and it shows you how their lives our every single day! I can not put this down! Brilliant and indescribably perfect! Amazing job to the author and I can't wait to keep reading! I love this book!

This book, it gets me every time I pick it up! So many things I don't expect! John Green knows what he is doing with his writing! What Hazel went through, and still goes through, is so crazy and hard and unbelievable! I don't think I could be like her, and I definitely don't think I could be as humorous as Augustus always is! This book speaks to us because it talks about real things in real life. At any moment we could be diagnosed with cancer or some other disease that will change our lives forever, and possibly for the worst. We don't know what will happen in this grand journey we call life, only God knows and he guides through life but he doesn't prepare us for life changing events until they have already happened (which does make sense, because that is just how unknown things work).

I'm dying here! Augustus is pretty bad with his cancer treatment and remission and everything! To top it off, Peter Van Houten still didn't tell them all that they wanted to know! This book is getting deeper and deeper, and it is killing me! Suspense has never been a good thing when reading a book since you always want to know that which is the unknown (meaning, you want to continue reading until your questions have their answers).
The whole thing of Hazel wanting Augustus to write her an obituary is crazy! I also feel like fore-shadowing is happening with that. I hope I'm wrong though...I don't want either of them to die! I hope they both beat their cancers and live happily ever after together. Happy endings like that are always the best, though sad endings are the ones where you learn the most (and reflect the most too).

I totally agree with you guys Courtney and Megan!!!! John is such an inspiring writer and does tug at the teenage girl heart strings! It is like John is actually reading our minds when he is writing! He writes such beautiful books that I can't help but keep reading non stop! I haven't put the book down willingly, because I get too sleepy to read more. I am so excited to near the end of the book!!! I do not want to cry, but I have a feeling that I will be by the end of this book! Keep reading!!! It is the perfect book! Amazing job John Green I wish I could meet you!

No. No no no no no no no. Augustus simply CANNOT die! This has to be a joke, he can not be on his death bed! John Green, if you love writing, you will not kill off one if the best characters in this book!
Other than my rant about Augustus and his possible death to come, I thought these chapters would nice. They spoke of how friends would deal with the death of a good friend, or how a girlfriend/boyfriend would go to all sorts of lengths to see the one they love. Especially if they know that loved one will not be here much longer...
The eulogies that Isaac and Hazel wrote and said really got to me. I was crying along with them after hearing what they wrote. This book...there are so many things to feel, so in a way this book accomplished what it was written to do.
Overall, I cannot wait to see how this book ends (even if it has a terribly sad ending). This book has to be one of the best books I've read so far!

I’m sorry I haven’t posted before now!! The book came in the mail late last week and I’m going to just catch up, if that’s okay Review 1: Ch. 1-4 I love Augustus. I love him so much. It’s amazing how John Green can just make you fall in love with the characters in a matter of minutes. If I was in Hazel’s position, honestly, I don’t think I could be very positive about it. I mean, it’s not exactly something you can just brush off, especially in Hazel’s case. Personally, I don’t see how anyone could find anything positive about having cancer. Sure, you’d appreciate things a little more than you would have, but when I imagine myself in her position, I’m certain I would be terrified at first. After some time, though, I think I would feel a lot like Hazel does. One of my favorite quotes from these first four chapters was when she went to the mall for her ‘half-birthday celebration’. “Kaitlyn just happened to be an extremely sophisticated twenty-five-year-old British socialite stuck inside a sixteen-year-old body in Indianapolis.” And I have seen some posts about John Green, and he’s really funny. I’m planning on checking out his YouTube videos Review 2: Ch. 5-12 This book has made me think about the universe and the things in it in a way I really haven’t before. It’s like learning another language when I read this book. I learn a whole new vocabulary of personalities and experiences and perspectives. I’m really enjoying the banter between Hazel and Augustus, and the way their relationship is evolving makes me really happy. They communicate in a way that’s funny and intelligent at the same time and I think that’s just about perfect. The story that’s being told seems so real and the emotions that the characters have, portray what would actually be happening, I think. So far, I think this book is wonderful and I love it. Review 3: Ch. 13-18 I thought it was funny, and really nice (in a strange sort of way) when Augustus took Isaac to go egg Monica’s car. Vandalism isn’t good, of course, but Augustus thought it’d make Isaac feel better and relieve some of the anger. When his health started to deteriorate, Hazel stayed with him. His experiences and the events in the last two chapters really made me think about what it would be like, to be so close to death. I don’t know if I could… stand that, I mean, I would be absolutely terrified.
