The first chapters teaches us about Chloe and her personality, including how she see herself and even some of allows the author to point her past memories helping us keep in mind that she is everything but normal. She portrays herself as someone who is seen more like a child and is not given enough credit. Chloe allows her self to be influence by others and lack the ability- or avoided the chance to make any life changing decisions for herself. These are some of the flaws that I saw in her character as I read.

I find Chloe to be a great character and believable. Especially her stuttering. I do that and can understand how it feels where you have to think about what you say. She is very kind... maybe a little bit to kind and very quiet unless she becomes accustom to the people around her. So yes, i can somewhat relate to this character My least favorite character in the is Tori. She's seems to be the all time mean girl in those original high school stories/movies.

I do think that even though Chloe's good qualities are outweighed with the bad ones, I can still understand how you and any other reader is able to relate to her, especially with the stutter because it makes her more liable of mistakes and lets us see that like most characters in other books she is not all good. I also like how when she accepts how she can see ghosts and didn't try to make excuses to find a more logical answer. I see her as an ever changing character as the book keeps on going.

The Lyle House that the characters are staying in is very DIFFERENT in a very conspicuous way. In one of the chapters the Doctor Gill gets so upset about everyone in the home knowing about Chloe's "condition". They seem to take privacy far to serious. They seem to be scared that if the Derek, Simon, Rae, Tori, and Chloe start talking together about their "conditions" then they might find a deeper truth.

Exactly! Especially when they automatically found some symptom that led to chloe to have schizophrenia. She obviously doesn't have schizophrenia but they tried to make her believe that she does by giving her pills. Which make them even more suspicious when watch and make sure they take the pill. -.- something seriously going on that house...

So far I am enjoying the book very much, I like reading books like this one because it leaves you thinking of what is going to happen next. My favorite character so far is Simon, he is a very nice guy he is trying to help chloe through this tough time she is going through but chloe is not really letting him help her.

As the book progresses we find out that their is more to each of the characters than just the surface of what the institute tells them. In chapter 12 Derek definitely reveals more to Chloe about her " condition" giving her a proper name. Could Derek know more than he leads on when he points out when he calls her a Necromancer as Chloe began to admit to herself that what now haunts her mind is far more than what the nurses at Lyle House have labeled ed her with?

I think Derek knows way more about Chloe's condition than she does. I also think that in this few chapters I have read Derek looks kind of suspicious and Chloe is trying to figure out who Derek really is. I csn't wait to see what happens next.

At first when they told her that she was a necromancer Chloe didn't want to except it at all but as days past she started to except it because she knew that some how it was true and she knew she had more than schizophrenia.

Just slide comment that I want to make "I HATE TORI!" *the character* SHE'S MEAN. JUST PLAIN MEAN. just wanted to say that... Yeah I agree with you Lupita, and Derek knows way to much about whats going maybe even about the lyle house and also simon lets not forget him he knows whats going as well probably not as much Derek but still. I also am aware that Derek is hiding something because he always wants to talk to her alone, i know its because it her supernatural power but its kinda stalkerish. (So my own side note on derek: Plebe stop stalking Chloe...its disturbing.)

Well I definitely agree with hating Tori the way she acts is really something thing but I can't completely blame her for the way she is the way her mother treats her would make anyone insane. I also think that Chloe character is changing as the book proceeds... She beginning to stand up for herself a little bit more and the fact that she don't let herself be pushed around by Derek can also be admired.

So it's settled Chloe's a necromancer, Simon, what he calls a sorcerer, and Derek a who-knows-what, and the fact still remains that Liz had not been completely normal, when she was "transferred". Could Lyle House be aware of the kid's abilities or their powers( which is what I'm going to call them) and if they are aware of these powers why keep them together and for what evil purpose? (Dun...Dun...DUN).

Raise your hand if you think Liz is dead...hahahaha if you did good girl... anyways I think Liz is gone for good and that the transfer was not complete normal so now the question also remains where did they take her and why did they kill her? Are they planning to kill every single one of them? (them = Derek, Chloe, Simon, and Rae... Victoria not being that important.)
