I loooove this book! I just started reading it and it's really different from others I've read. I think we've read plenty of stories about teen moms. In those stories, the moms are raising the babies by themselves because the dads are irresponsible or not involved at all. Aren't there any good teenage dad's out there? So far what I've read in "The First Part Last" the dad Bobby is the only one responsible for his baby Angela.

So far this book is very interesting. It flips back and forth from now and then. It's about teenage pregnancy. It looks like Bobby and Nia are having to grow up fast but my question is, "Why do kids make these stupid choices?" Life is already hard enough?!

The 1st half of the book was very intense. Seeing the perspective from a males point of view is very different. This 16 year old boy named Bobby is in a real bind. Who and how can anyone raise a baby at 16? There is so much you have to do and know. 16 is a time to go to games, movies, ect., Its about being a teenager, but this story puts a reality check on Bobby and Nia. I can't wait to read the next half!

Well I read the second part of the book and it was GOOOOD! Bobby goes through so much from being arrested to having to make a very important decision. I can't even believe that Nia's parents were trying to push them to give up their baby for adoption. Just to think that you are going to let someone else raise your baby, is just not even imaginable to me. I really admired Bobby for becoming a man, a FATHER to his child in this story. He realizes that it's not going to be easy but, he knows that it's the right thing. Also, on top of the whole thing he has to make a decision on his own. But it turns out to be the right thing, although he will be doing it alone and for the next 18 years of baby Feather he is determined to do it.

I just finished the second part of the book. I liked some things and disliked others! Bobby is going through so much right now, but the thing that makes him different is that he is going to be a single father. I disliked how Nia's parents wanted her to adopt the baby when Bobby didn't want that decision? It wasn't the baby's fault for it to go through something that isn't worth it. I liked how Bobby made the right decision to become a man and not adopt the baby! He will be a single father, he will be on his own but at least he is doing something right. I really loved this book! It's different from others I've read and at the end it leaves you speechless.
