Book Review #3: MockingJay by Suzanne Collins
MockingJay is about how Katniss was making the right choices or not. It begins with Katniss is in District 12, her hometown. It is destroyed by flames and burned down. She now moves to a locations known as District 13. It was supposedly destroyed, but was later soon found out to be still living, but underground. Katniss has a choice whether to be the "MockingJay" or some sory of leader I suppose. She believes Peeta is dead. She takes on the role of the "MockingJay" and joins the team. She finds out Peeta is alive. Later on in the story, the team makes a plan. An army is made to attack the Capitol and try to escape with the people that were kept under President Snow. They were being beatened, mistreated, and were not well at all. They were soon rescued, but there was something wrong. Peeta was not acting lile himself. Doctors say he as been hijacked. Meaning, good things from the past have been manipulated into making the person think they were bad memories before. Peeta soon joins the army and Katniss hears some news that seems to worry her. She is told President Coin sent Peeta with their team for him to kill her. This was true, but it did not happen. It was actually Coin's plan to kill Prim and her family. Prim and her mother are killed and so are the other soldiers while Katniss lives. In the end, Peeta is almost back to his normal self. He now remembers most of the things that had happened. He then reunites his love for Katniss and they have 2 children, a boy and a girl. It still has not said yet if Katniss and Peeta are married.
I chose this book because it was the next book in the series The Hunger Games. Not only was it the next book, but I wanted to know what would happen to Katniss and Peeta.
I did somewhat enjoy this enjoy. It was a good plot for the last series, but in the end almost everyone has died except for Katniss and Peeta. It was not too exciting as I thought it would be.
I recommend this book to anyone who has read Book 1 and 2 of course and for those of you who enjoy and good adventure plot.
